Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Summerside Elementary, home of the Eagles! Summerside’s mission is to create excellence in every learner by using a calm, consistent, and caring approach in a safe and welcoming environment every day, in every way. We partner closely with our students’ families and our community to support meeting our students where they are, helping them learn, lead, and succeed. We work together to build a strong foundation for our future West Clermont School District graduates.

Summerside Elementary has more than 70 teachers and staff members who work together to educate approximately 620 students enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade. All students engage in literacy and math instruction every day as well as learning experiences in science and social studies throughout the week. All students, K-5, participate in art, music, gym, and Discovery, a class that explores logic thinking and STEM centered experiences, once a week. We extend our learning opportunities as students require them to provide special education services, gifted education services (grades 4-5) and additional services as needed by our three reading specialists, through our partnership with Child Focus’ Qualified Mental Health Specialist, and our building health aide.

The Summerside staff cares about our children and their families. We encourage and welcome parent involvement in the school as we work together to provide a quality educational experience for every student. We have an active PTO working to provide outstanding school community building events like family movie nights, book fairs and dances. We are fortunate to have many local community agencies support our students and their families as well, including the local Boys and Girls Club where we provide busing to their program.

At Summerside, we provide educational opportunities that allow our students to pursue personal happiness, explore their talents, and share their innovative and creative thinking skills to create the lives they want to live. We strive for personal resilience, academic excellence, and collaborative growth in a child-centered, caring environment. We welcome you and your children to Summerside Elementary!
