Amelia Tiger Families,
I hope this message finds you warm and safe this evening! I know this has been a difficult week for our community. Our students and their families have continually been in my thoughts and prayers.
If you or someone you know has been affected by the storms this week and you're in need, please reach out to me. I will do all that I can to help or to connect you with someone else that can. Knowing that many families were still without power this morning, we made sure that any child that came to school without eating breakfast was fed and we will continue to do this again tomorrow. In addition, Mrs. Parker and I have reached out to Empower Youth, the amazing organization that provides our weekend Tiger Packs of non-perishable food to many of our Amelia students. They will be bringing extra food donations to school tomorrow so we will have them available to anyone that needs them. Again, please contact me if you need help or if you know someone else in need!
At this time, school is in session for tomorrow. I spoke with the Amelia Village Mayor Todd Hard this evening and he confirmed that the water main break has been repaired and we should be fully operational at school tomorrow. I will update everyone if and when that changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through our early dismissal today.
You and your children continue to inspire me each and every day. I'm honored to be your principal. Take care and I'll see you again soon!
Yours in service,
Jeffrey Riel, Principal
