Dear Brantner Families,
We kicked off this week honoring Constitution Day, Monday, September 17. "Each year, schools nationwide help students understand the U.S. Constitution and its significance by commemorating Constitution Day. Educational institutions receiving federal funding are required to plan an education program celebrating Constitution Day." (Ohio Dept. of Education) Students read about our Constitution, talked about the freedoms and safeguards it provides, and took time to honor our Constitution of the United States.
We wrapped up our week with therapy dogs in second grade, MTSS groups starting for all students K-5, and celebrating how well our students are following school wide behavioral expectations as a whole school in an assembly. Here is a link to the presentation your student was a part of on Friday. You can ask them about the reflective writing they completed after the assembly to share their Wish for Brantner!
We also introduced two new ways to take care of each other and our environment that will begin on Monday. If you come in to volunteer or eat with your child, you will notice a sharing table and refrigerator in our cafeteria where students can put wrapped, unopened food for others to eat instead of throwing items away from our cafeteria that they do not want to eat. We encourage our students who pack to take home unopened, non-perishable foods instead of throwing them away too. Students who want to take something from the sharing table will need to first ask a teacher to make certain we are monitoring allergies and food safety. You will also find two new recycling cans to encourage our students to take care of our environment and put less recyclable waste in our landfills at lunch time.
We hope you join us for the West Clermont Education Foundation Fun Run!!
