West Clermont Virtual Academy

The West Clermont Virtual Academy provides at-risk high school students the opportunity to take all of their coursework online. This program can be completed on-campus the campus of West Clermont High School, off-campus, or a combination of both. The mission of the WCVA is to assist at-risk high school students in earning their high school diplomas. In order to participate in this program, an application must be submitted to a school counselor. The application (see link below) will be sent to the WCVA Coordinator for approval.  Not all students who apply will be accepted into the program.  If accepted, the WCVA Coordinator will meet with the student and parent to design a program that fits the need of the individual student.  Issues include the best environment for the student to complete his/her work, the coursework and state testing that needs to be completed in order to meet graduation requirements, and timelines for course completion. A contract is signed by the parent and student once a plan has been created. In order to make the WCVA competitive with other online schools, there is no charge for full time, in-district enrollment, during the regular school year. There may be a fee for individual classes taken online.

For students who are credit deficient and taking traditional classes at West Clermont High School, the WCVA provides an opportunity to recover credits in its credit recovery classroom. School counselors will select students to participate in this part of our program.
