8th grade girls tournament AWAY at Anderson High School game beginning at 5:15 pm.
Tournament Time! We will have more information on the February 13th games after our teams play on February 10th & 11th.

March 9th – 7:00 – 9:00pm – More information will be coming soon! Try outs will be announced soon and happen in the next few weeks! Start preparing your acts and tune in next week for more information!
Board of Education Meeting:
Monday, February 13th is the monthly meeting. 7:00pm at the Union Township Civic Center. All are welcome to attend the meeting to hear about the progress of our new High School, transitioning to the Middle School and all the happenings of our district.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Thursday, February 16, 2017 is conference night, 4:00 – 7:30pm. ALL teachers/teams are scheduling their own conferences. If you have not received information please contact your students’ teachers to schedule an appointment.
Cases: If you order a case for your student(s) they will be handed out as we receive them. Following are a few tips for the cases!
- Put your name in numerous places on the case.
- Always use your case when traveling between classes.
- At the end of the day your case should be put in your locker and the chromebook plugged into the cart to be charged overnight.
Insurance: Insurance is always available to purchase for $15.00. Once the money is received, it will take effect 7 days later.
Schoology and Progress Book:
Both of these programs have ICONS available on the APP store. All of our students and parents can access Schoology from any computer.
YEARBOOKS: FEBRUARY 15th DEADLINE!
2016-2017 Yearbooks are available to order. $25.00 – Books with the name stamp are no longer available. Orders can be placed online. https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/ - order number 253.\
Immunization Requirements! Attention All 6th Grade Parents/Guardians
All students entering the 7th grade in the fall of 2017 are required to show proof of receiving the Tdap and Meningicoccal (MCV4) vaccines BEFORE attending school. Please see the attached letter and form to be completed by your child’s physician. If you have any questions, please contact the health clinic at 947-7703. Mrs. Lori Crowe, WCMS Principal, will be hosting an informal WCMS question & answer session for students and parents on Thursday, February 16th in the AMS library from 4:30pm – 6:30pm during parent-teacher conferences. She will share a brief presentation at 4:30pm and repeat it at 6:00pm and then be available for questions. Please plan on attending at either 4:30pm or 6:00pm to hear the exciting things happening for WCMS!!! There will be an additional session on March 2nd at GEMS during the PTO meeting.
February 17th – No School for students, PD Day for teachers.
February 20th – No School in observance of Presidents Day
Morning Drop Off:
Please be aware of the traffic patterns and procedures in the morning. We have had some close calls endangering our students. Do not pass other vehicles and follow the directional signs.
8th grade students:
Were you excited after the field trip to Live Oaks in November? Interested in learning more about a specific career field? Worried you’ll be bored this summer? If you answered YES to any of these questions, you should check out the Great Oaks Summer Camps being offered this June. For just $50 you’ll be able to attend a 5-day program and go in-depth to learn about career opportunities that are a lot of fun!

My Energy Kit:
Students will bring home information about the Duke Energy challenge. There will also be a presentation on Tuesday, February 14th at the PAC for the students. See below for information on how you can get a FREE Energy Kit from Duke. GEMS can win $250 if 100 families order kits. The school that requests the MOST kits wins $2500!
