Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week as well as Right to Read Week and fliers about both went home with students today, so please make sure to check backpacks tonight. As the weather warms up, many students are coming to school in flip flops and sandals that are causing lots of falls, slips, and trips on the playground and in the hallways so please make sure that children are sent with appropriate shoes for the school day. One last reminder from the cafeteria, next Friday May 2nd will be the final day students will be allowed to charge a lunch in the cafeteria. Good evening Huskies, just a few quick items before we begin next week. Don't forget tomorrow night is our Grandparents' Night event and if you sent in your RSVP we look forward to hosting you tomorrow night. The Book Fair will be open during Grandparents' Night for anyone attending that event who wishes to make purchases as well. Looking a little further ahead, don't forget that there is no school next Friday the 14th due to Good Friday. Unfortunately, we have been seeing an increase of bus write-ups in the past couple weeks and we want to make sure that students are on their best behavior while riding on the bus. Riding the school bus is a privilege and we want to make sure that all students are safe on their way to and from school so if you could please talk to your child and remind them of that expectation I would greatly appreciate it. As always, if you have any questions about anything you can contact our main office at 943-8900. Everyone have a great night!

If it does happen to rain, we will make this an indoor event and have the students do their walking inside the building. Thank you to all who donated to get us very close to our $12,000 goal this year. Our students were able to raise almost $11,000 for our PTO and we are very excited to think about all the great things we can do for our Huskies with those funds! On October 20th we will be holding our Trick or Treat Event from 6:30-7:30 and parents and students can come and go during that time as they please, but stay tuned in the next few weeks for more details! In order to help make this happen, we would ask that parents who would like to donate to their child’s classroom, simply send in one or two store-bought bags of Halloween candy that the teacher can hand out that night to the students and families to trick or treat. Today is Thursday, so please make sure to check your child’s backpack and folder for important graded material and school communication. Today the flier went home for the Amelia Library’s “Library Stars” where students can earn incentives by going to the library and reading, which will in-turn earn them some great prizes. We hope that anyone who has interest in this will make the Amelia Library a regular stop and help get our Huskies reading more! Again, thank you to everyone who donated or took the time out to help our students collect donations for the Walk-a-thon! Everyone have a great night!

As many of you know, it is getting hotter this week and unfortunately we don’t see it getting cooler until late next week. Please make sure that our Huskies come to school dressed in cool clothing and if they are able to bring a water bottle, that would help too! Thank you to our PTO today for providing ice cold water bottles and popsicles to all of our students as we battled the warmth today! It was greatly appreciated. Today is Thursday, so please make sure to check your child’s backpack and folders as this is our school’s designated day to send home all important information! Anyone who still has forms to turn in from your child’s blue folder please work on getting those turned in as soon as possible. It has been a great first week here at Holly Hill and we are very excited about the start we are off to and look forward to a great year going forward. Everyone have a great evening!

Good evening Huskies, just a few quick items before we wrap up this week and look forward to next week. Parents, please don't forget to fill out the forms in your child's blue folder and get those returned to your child's teacher as soon as possible. Also, thank you for having your children to school on time as it has made these first few days perfect! It has been a great first week so far and we are excited to have all the students back and are looking forward to a successful school year!

Just a friendly reminder that class lists are posted on the front doors of Holly Hill as of last Friday. This Thursday, we will be holding our Kindergarten Orientation from 5 until 6:30 and our Open House will be held on Monday, August 15th from 4:30 until 7:45. During Open House, Mr. Short will speak to those in attendance at 4:45 and again at 6 so please attend the session that works best with your schedule. If you attend the KG Orientation, you do not need attend the Open House as well. If you have not yet registered your child through InfoSnap, please make sure to do that as soon as possible so your child can be assigned to a class list before school starts! Students who are not registered will not be allowed to attend class until this is done. If you have any questions, please call the front office at 943-8900.
