June Update

Hello Summerside Families!  Happy Friday!

Our Office Team, Custodial Team, and PTO are hard at work preparing Summerside for a terrific 2017-18.  Good things are happening at West Clermont!  I was able to tour the new West Clermont High School and am excited for the students who will be attending there.  Speaking of new buildings, I have been meeting Dr. Kline and members of the Central Office Team and planning is underway for the new Summerside Facility that is scheduled to open for the 2019-2020 school year.  Good things are happening!  Clear District Goals will center all West Clermont Schools so we are focused as a Team aiming high to provide our students in West Clermont a outstanding school experience.  The Clear District Goals which will serve as our compass are attached along with information that you will need to plan for a smooth transition into the 2017-18 School Year.

Our PTO Board under the leadership of Jennifer Teets our PTO President and I are meetiing regularly and we are planning a full slate of family events and after school student engagement opportunities for the 2017-18 school year. A detailed after school calendar of events will be placed on our school website in August.

Our Office Team is here to serve you and do not hesitate to call me Mon-Sunday at 373-5735 if I can be of assistance.

Life is good!

Bob

Look Up Your Bus Route Online!

You can now look up your child's bus route online!  This is for students in grades K-8 only.  Visit https://elink.nationalexpresscorp.com/ElinkWestClermontCincinnattiOH to find your child's bus route information. You will need your child's student ID number (ex: 000000) and their date of birth (ex: 01012016 no slashes).  If you need your child's student ID number please contact your child's school.

2017-2018 School Year Start Times

With opening of West Clermont High School and West Clermont Middle School we knew there would be an increased demand on traffic in the area of the two schools and on bus transportation.  To help with the increased traffic in the area, Clough Pike will be widened between McMann Road, and Bach-Buxton Road.  The construction is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed by June 30th.  Additionally, West Clermont Middle School will begin the day at 7:00am and West Clermont High School will begin the day at 7:45am to allow the middle school traffic to filter out before the high school traffic arrives.

To overcome transportation issues such as geography, the length of the routes, and the ability of a bus to complete the middle school route and then get to their elementary route the district has to absorb 8 buses to make sure they can make the run to West Clermont Middle School and then turn around and make their elementary routes.  To accommodate this, Brantner Elementary will be moved to being a late starting school beginning with the 2017-2018 school year.  The school day at Brantner will now run from 9:20am – 3:55pm.

Brantner will join Holly Hill, Merwin,  Summerside, Willowville, and Withamsville Tobasco as late starting schools.  Both Amelia Elementary and Clough Pike Elementary will still begin the day at 8:20am.
