Buildings Closed for Summer Break

As a reminder most of our buildings will be closed for the summer as of July 1st.  There will be limited hours at both West Clermont Middle School and West Clermont High School.  All buildings will re-open on August 1st.  If you need to contact someone at one of our schools during the month of July please use the contact information listed below.  If may take a few days to get a response.  If you have questions or concerns that require immediate attention you can email us at info@westcler.org.  Have a great rest of the summer!

Athlete Physicals

Does your middle school or high school athlete need a physical for the upcoming season?  Our partners at MercyHealth will be offering athlete physicals for only $20 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm on Monday June 11th at the MercyHealth West Clermont HealthPlex on the campus of West Clermont High School.  Click here to get more information.

Superintendent Finalists Meet and Greet

There will be a meet and greet session for 3 finalists for the position of Superintendent of the West Clermont Local Schools.  The session will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm TONIGHT in the cafeteria of West Clermont High School.  This is a chance for the entire community to come out and meet the candidates.  The 3 finalists are:

Hiding In Plain Sight

Parents and guardians, this is your opportunity to learn about warning signs that may be “hiding in plain sight” in your child’s room. We will have the “Hidden in Plain Sight” exhibit at West Clermont High School on Thursday April 26th from 6pm - 9pm.  This will be an open house format. Parents of all school aged children are welcome to come in at any time from 6pm-9pm.  The presentation includes, guest speakers and resource information to help prepare you for the difficult conversations with youth about alcohol and other drugs. Light refreshments will be provided. 

Superintendent Search Community Engagment

The West Clermont Board of Education and its superintendent search firm, CF Educational Solutions, has launched an online survey developed by CF Educational Solutions to enable district stakeholders to identify the top qualities they most desire in the next superintendent. Based on the feedback, the Board will establish the ideal candidate characteristics.  The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WestClermont.  The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, May 11, 2018.

WCHS Two Hour Late Arrival Testing Schedule

West Clermont High School will be conducting the last of the End of Course (EOC) Exams on Wednesday May 2nd .  To accomodate testing during the day, the high school will operate on a TWO HOUR LATE ARRIVAL schedule.  See below for the testing schedule and the bell schedule on testing days. NOTE:  If your child is taking one of the exams listed below they should report at the normal arrival time of 7:45am.  If your child is not taking one of the exams listed below they should report by 9:45am on testing days.  Students can still be dropped off as early as 6:30am.

 

 

State Recognition!

Congratualations to Maddie Walker for winning the State Championship in the 1600m at the OATCCC Indor Track and Field State Championships!  Maddie becomes the first ever State Champion in the history of West Clermont High School!  Congratulations also to Elijah Dunigan for qualifying for the OHSAA State Bowling Championships!  Good luck Elijah in Columbus!

2018 Howl at the Moon

The West Clermont Athletic Boosters will be holding their annual fundraiser on Friday March 16th from 7:00pm - 12:00am at Norlyn Manner.  Howl at the Moon will feature a dinner dance and the induction of the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2018.  Visit the West Clermont Athletic Boosters page to purchase your tickets.  All tickets include snacks, buffett dinner, desert, drinks, dancing, auctions, and raffles.  Contact Tara Kaiser at westclermontathleticboosters@gmail.com with any questions.

TWO HOUR EARLY RELEASE

Due to the predicted weather all West Clermont Schools will operate on a TWO HOUR EARLY RELEASE schedule on Friday January 12th with no AM or PM preschool.  

College Credit Plus Information Night

Are you interented in earning college credit while attending high school?  Then you need to attend the College Credit Plus informational meeting on Thursday January 18th from 7:00pm - 8:00pm in the Auditorium of West Clermont High School.  This meeting is open to all current 7th - 12th grade students. Two Hour Delay Schedule

The West Clermont Local Schools will be operating on a TWO HOUR DELAY on Tuesday January 2nd due to inclement weather.  That means West Clermont High School will be operating on our TWO HOUR DELAY SCHEDULE.  Click here to view the schedule for the day.

Do you have an interest in technology, aviation, education, or leadership?  Then check out the Explorer Programs at West Clermont High School.  This program is designed to help you learn about different career pathways including technology, aviation, education, and leadership. You can learn more by checking out the introductory video.   These opportunites are open to all students in grades 9-12.

WEST CLERMONT BOARD APPROVES LOCAL CONTROL LEGISLATION

West Clermont Needs Your Help!

The West Clermont Board of Education has unanimously approved a resolution supporting swift action to approve Senate Bill 216 – Deregulation of Public Schools.  This bill is the first step in returning LOCAL CONTROL of our schools back to our community and away from bureaucrats in Columbus.

West Clermont High School Craft Show

Make your holiday plans now.  Visit the 1st Annual West Clermont High School Craft Show on Saturday November 25th.  The show will be open from 9:00am - 3:00pm.

District Online Auctions

The West Clermont Local School District is holding online acutions to auction off surplus items.  You can view the link to the auction below.  Lot 144 closes on Sunday November 26th at 7:30pm.  At this time NO PAST ATHLETIC TROPHIES are included in any of the auctions.

Night of One Acts

The West Clermont Theater Department presents, "A Night of One Acts".  The performances will be held on Thursday November 2nd beginning at 7:00pm in the West Clermont High School Theater.  Tickets are $5 at the door.

It's Playoff Time!

The West Clermont Wolves are Co-Champions of the ECC and #PlayoffBound!  The Wolves will take on Mason High School in the first round of the OHSAA Divsion I Region IV Football Playoffs at Mason on Friday at 7:30pm.  #GoWolves

District Calendar Input

The West Clermont School District has begun the development of district calendars for 2018-19 and 2019-2020 and is seeking input from parents and staff before a final recommendation is made to the Board of Education in late November.

Stuff The Bus Challenge

It is time once again for the Stuff The Bus Challenge.  You can donate non-perishable food and personal care items all throughout the week at your child's school. The items will be picked up on Friday October 20th. We will also be accepting donations at the West Clermont vs. Turpin football game on Friday night. All items will be donated to Interparrish Ministries and will stay right here in Clermont County! 

Senior Picture Deadline

Attention Seniors!  The deadline to get your Senior Pictures taken with McIntyre Photography is October 31st.  Call them at 513-528-5888 to schedule your appointment.

National Merit Scholarship Awards

ACT Registration Deadline

The registration deadline for the October ACT is TOMORROW.  When you register use the school ACT code 360994.  This will show up as Glen Este.  That is ok.  The ACT is working on changing that for us.  Make sure you get signed up TOMORROW if you would like to take the ACT next month.

WCHS Homecoming Details

It’s Opening Night at the first ever Homecoming for West Clermont High School!  Tickets are now on sale for the Homecoming Dance during all lunches.  Cost is $15.  Tickets will be on sale through September 29th.  The Homecoming football game will be on Friday September 29th vs. Withrow at 7:00pm.  The Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday September 30th from 8pm - 11pm.

12th Grade Immunization Clinic

All students in 12th grade in the fall of 2017, are required by Ohio school law to show proof of the following immunization BEFORE starting school:

• Meningococcal (MCV4) (to protect from Meningitis)

  • If your student received a Meningitis vaccine before the age of 16years, a second dose is required for attendance in 12th grade.
  • If your student will be receiving the first dose of the Meningitis (MCV4) and is now 16 years of age or older, only one dose is required for school attendance in the 12th grade.

 

Any 12th grade student who has not shown proof of receiving the vaccination will be excluded from school beginning on Monday October 2nd.  

To help with this process our partners at Health Source Ohio will be holding clinic hours for any Senior at West Clermont High School to get their updated vaccine.  The clinic hours will be held on Thursday September 14th from 5:00pm - 7:15pm in the Community Rooms at West Clermont High School.  All students must complete and bring with them their drivers license or School ID and the Health Source Ohio registration packet linked below.  If you have any questions please contact District Nurse Heather Burns at  burns_h@westcler.org.

New Attendance Laws for 2017-2018 School Year

The State of Ohio has made significant changes to school attendance laws for the 2017-2018 school year. Labor Day Holiday

All West Clermont Local Schools will be closed on Monday September 4th in observance of the Labor Day holiday.  School will resume Tuesday September 5th.

West Clermont Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Together, we make a family.​ On Wednesday, November 22nd from 5:00-7:30 pm, WCHS will be hosting the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Feast for families in need throughout the West Clermont School District.  Please consider helping make this a warm and welcome holiday for all community members by making a donation to the dinner. 

Class of 2018 Graduate Services Information

One Hour Late Arrival

West Clermont High School will operate on a one hour late arrival schedule on Wednesday February 7th for teacher professional development.  Students can still be dropped off as early as 6:30am.  The Oaks busses will still operate on their normal schedule.  First bell for students will begin at 8:45am.  The schedule for the day is listed below.

 

 

WCHS Theater Spring Performance

The West Clermont High School Theater Department presents, "Footloose".  Performances will be held on Friday May 18th, and Saturday May 19th at 7:00pm.  There will be a matinee performance on Sunday May 20th at 2:00pm.  Tickets:  $8 for students and seniors.  $10 Pre-sale and $12 at the door.  Come out and support our tremendous and talented drama students.

WCHS Class of 2018 Graduation Information

Graduation for the inaugural graduating class from West Clermont High School will be held on Friday May 25th at 7:00pm.  The event will take place at the Cintas Center on the campus of Xavier University.  Please see the information below for further details:

Parking - Please see the map that is attached.   Handicap parking is indicated as SR in the front of the building. Cintas will have attendants with wheelchairs available for guests and will have handicap seating available.  Graduates should park in C-1 or R-1. Graduates and staff should enter the building on the C-1 side. Audience must enter from the front. General Parking – C-2, C-3, C-4, R-2 and R-3

Tickets - you will not need tickets as Cintas has a capacity of 10,000.

Senior Immunization Requirements

Senior Parents/Guardians....We hope you are enjoying your summer. We know planning for your child’s senior year is an exciting time. We wanted to remind you of an important detail as we get closer to the start of the upcoming school year. As a reminder, all students entering the 12th grade are required by Ohio law to provide proof of the following vaccination BEFORE the start of the 2018-2019 school year.

Live Oaks and Scarlet Oaks Transportation

Attention all West Clermont High School students that attend Live Oaks or Scarlet Oaks.  We will start offering transportation from West Clermont High School to Live Oaks and Scarlet Oaks for JUNIORS ONLY on 8/16 and ALL STUDENTS on 8/17.  More information will be coming soon on pickup/drop off times and locations.

WCHS Teacher Running 12 Marathon In 12 Months!

West Clermont High School Teacher Robin Hornberger is running 12 marathons in 12 months to help raise scholarship money for the West Clermont Education Foundation.  Check out her story to see how you can be involved.

WCHS Near the Top in the State in One Year Academic Growth!

Preliminary state testing data from the 17-18 school year is out and we can proudly say that West Clermont High School will be one of the top schools in Ohio in one year academic growth! Some of the highlights for West Clermont High School from the preliminary state testing data includes:

NEW WCHS Traffic Flow Information

To ease the traffic congestion entering and leaving the campus during drop off and dismissal time we will be implementing a new traffic pattern around campus beginning on Wednesday September 6th.  This was done in conjunction with the Union Township Police Department, and the Clermont County Engineers Office.  You can review the new traffic pattern here.  There will also be additional signage on campus to help everyone learn the new pattern.  

 

WCHS Wellness Committee Meeting

The West Clermont High School Wellness Committee will meet on Thursday, February 15th starting at 5pm in the Lower Media Center. 2018 WCHS PTSO Golf Outing

Join us on Monday June 11th at Legendary Run Golf Club for the 2nd Annual West Clermont High School PTSO Golf Outing. The outing will begin with a shotgun start at 12:00pm, and will be a 4 person scramble format. All proceeds from the outing will be applied to a student scholarship and student recognition programs. 

WCHS Summer Assignments

A list of summer assignments for students at West Clermont High School is now availaable!  Students enrolled in any IB, AP, or Honors level class will have a summer assignment. 2nd Quarter Honor Roll

Congratulations to all of the students at West Clermont High School who made the Honor Roll in the 2nd Quarter.  The Honor Roll was broken down into two categories:  Principal's Award (GPA of 3.5 - and above) and Honors (GPA 3.0 - 3.49).

EOC Exam Retake Blitz

We will be holding an EOC Exam Retake Blitz from July 23 - July 27 from 9:00am - Noon.  Students must attend the full week of classes in order to retake the EOC Exam in July.

Summer School Session II

Summer School Session II will run from July 9 - July 27 from 9:00am - Noon.  Students can take two courses during the session at no cost!  Course being offered include:  Algebra I, Geometry, English I, and English II.

Wolves Wellness Student Based Health Center

HealthSource of Ohio is proud to partner with the West Clermont School District to provide primary care services at its newly constructed School-based Health Center opening February 5.  A School Based Health Center (SBHC) is a health care delivery model that acknowledges and supports this strong link between health and academics.

Summer School Session I will run from June 11 - June 29 from 9:00am - Noon.  Students can take two courses during the session at no cost!  Course being offered include:  Algebra I, Geometry, English I, and English II.

WCHS Summer Track Series

Looking to get in shape or stay in shape this Summer?  We have the event for you.  West Clermont High School will be holding their Summer Track and Field Series this year thanks to Tri State Running Company.  There will be 3 more meets throughout the summer on June 28th, July 12th, and July 19th..  All meets are FREE and open to any age!  All meets will be held on the beautiful track at West Clermont High School.  Click here to get more information. 

Calamity Day Schedules

Central Enrollment Summer Break

The West Clermont Local Schools Central Enrollment Department will be closed for Summer Break July 2nd - July 6th.  They will re-open on Monday July 9th at 8:00am.  

SnapCode Verification

Attention parents of current West Clermont students!  The portal to verify your SnapCode information for the 2018-2019 school year will open on May 23rd.  You will receive an email with the SnapCode for each child you have enrolled in the West Clermont Schools.  To verify your enrollment information using your child's SnapCode please vist our Central Enrollment Department page at http://www.westcler.k12.oh.us/Content/CentralEnrollment.  Once the portal is open please complete the process as soon as possible.  If you have any questions please contact Lesa Loudin at loudin_l@westcler.org.  

WCHS Boys Basketball Camps

Join us this summer for the West Clermont Wolves Boys Basketball Camps!  Two Camps will be offered this year:  Youth Camp (Grades 2-8) June 19th - 22nd and the Shooting Camp (Grades 4 - 8) June 26th - June 28th.  Click here to get more information or to register your child.  

Current Student SnapCode Verification

In preparation for the 2018-2019 school year, current student Snapcode verification information will be sent to families by email and by regular mail to the student's home address.  Snapcode verification must be completed and submitted in order for your child to receive their schedule or to be placed on a class list for 18-19 school year. 

Open enrolled students will not receive their Snapcode information until they have been approved for open enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year.  Please contact our Central Enrollment Department at 943-5042 with any questions.

Junior Police Academy

The Union Township Police Department in collaboration with the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, the Pierce Township Police Department, the Amelia Village Police Department, the Batavia Township Police Department, and the Williamsburg Police Department will be holding a Junior Police Academy for students between the ages of 13-17 June 11th - 15th.  The Academy will be held at Amelia Elementary from 9:00am - 3:00pm.  To register for the Junior Police Academy please fill out the registration form at http://www.westcler.k12.oh.us/docs/district/DistrictDocs/JPA2018.pdf.
