Advisory Strengths Survey

Students have taken their strengths survey on the chrome books in advisory class.  Please ask them to talk to you about their top 5 strengths!  Any adults who would like to take the strengths survey as well can do so at this link: http://www.viacharacter.org/www/Character-Strengths-Survey This is a great opportunity to talk with your child and compare strengths with them – maybe you share a strength or two with them!

Starting next week, Team Nymeria will begin collecting candy for the Yellow Ribbon Support Center.   The candy is used in care packages sent to our military men and women stationed overseas.  Students should turn in candy to their advisory teacher.  Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to help our community. /userfiles/922/my files/candy drive flyer.pdf?id=10894

Bus Safety

Safety is a primary concern at WCMS and in the West Clermont School District.  It is important that your child is safe on the bus both to and from school.  We are concerned with the increase in misbehavior on the bus.  Actions like standing when the bus is moving, failure to stay in assigned seat, throwing items such as paper wads and pens, screaming, messing with other student’s property, putting things out the window, and physical contact with another student are all examples of misbehavior. These behaviors not only can cause harm to each other but may also distract the driver, putting the entire bus at risk. If the bus driver witnesses inappropriate behavior and submits a bus referral to me, your child will receive an after school detention or bus suspensionA first referral minor referral will result in an after school detention.  A second referral will result in suspension from the bus for 1-3 days.  A third referral will result in suspension from the bus for 3-5 days.  Additional referrals may result in suspension from the bus for the remainder of the semester or school year. It will be the parent’s responsibility to get their child to and from school if they lose bus privileges.
