Weekly Announcements for 1/22/2018

Volunteers Needed – PAWS Store

We are in need of volunteers to help with the PAWS Store!  Help is needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays from 10:20 – 12:15 to log student purchases in the store.  Email Holly Brock at brock_h@westcler.org if you are interested in helping.  Please make sure you are fingerprinted with the district’s main office.

 

January 25th – 8th grade Transition meeting for students and parents, 6-7:15pm, WCHS Auditorium

Current 8th grade families are invited to a Transition meeting at WCHS.  There will be a presentation from 6-6:45pm in WCHS Auditorium to share information regarding graduation requirements and curriculum pathways.  After, stop by to see some of our programs on Main Street to hear more about the wide variety of elective offerings we have for students.

 

Boys Tennis Meeting (7th and 8th Grade)

There will be an informational meeting for parents and students interested in playing boys tennis this spring on Monday, January 22nd at 6PM in the PAC at WCMS.

 

Girls Softball Meeting (7th and 8th Grade)

There will be an informational meeting for parents and students interested in playing girls softball this spring on Monday, January 22nd at 6:30PM in the PAC at WCMS.

 

Talent Show

Auditions were announced this week for the WCMS Talent show which will be held mid-march.  Auditions will happen on February 6th and 7th. Students are able to sign up for auditions on schoology. If you have any questions, please email basler_a@westcler.org

 

Winter Bowling Club

Now taking applications for the Winter Bowling Club. Students will be taken to Cherry Grove Bowling Lanes each Thursday after school via school buys. 9th Grade Girls Soccer

8th grade girls interested in playing soccer for WCHS: Please stop by Ms. Kemmer's room (328) to sign up during Advisory. There will be a mandatory parent and player meeting on Feb. 13th in the WCHS Conference Room A at 6:00. Please make arrangements to attend.

 

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run will begin the week of February 19th on Mondays and Thursdays after school until 3:10 p.m. Applications for this nationally recognized program are in both Main Offices and Student Services. Wolves Wellness Center

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the District and HealthSource of Ohio to launch a School Based Health Center at West Clermont Middle School. The Wolves Wellness School Based Health Center will be available to students and staff across the district, as well as our community. It will provide medical, vision and behavioral health services during the school day.  The program does not take the place of your current physician.  More information will be available soon as students will be sent home with packets, including consent forms, in the days to come. 

 

ATTENTION: Current 8th Grade Students

Here are the key dates for current 8th grade students:

February 5th through 7th  – Classroom visits with HS counselor and administrator         

  •        Students will receive the course selector sheet for their grade level
  •        Course pre-requisites and sequence will be discussed with the students
  •        Students will be directed to the WCHS website where they can view the 18-19 Program of Studies – which includes detailed course descriptions
  •        HS staff will complete these visits during Social Studies classes at WCMS

February 7 – 8:00am OR 10:00am – Coffee with the Counselors – parents can attend this discussion time to ask questions about courses/scheduling if they cannot attend the parent night on 1/25 – meetings held in Community Room A

 

February 20 – February 22 – Course selection entry

  •        HS staff will visit SS classes to assist students with entering their course selections into the computer
  •        Students should have their course selector sheet completed at the time they enter their requests
  •        Students will enter their requests and then turn their course selector sheet into the counselor, Mrs. Brewer, from WCHS

Deadline to enter course selections:  Friday, February 24

** Students who fail to complete the online course selection process by the deadline will have their course selections completed by their counselor
