The other part of the Jump Rope for Heart Program is fundraising. The American Heart Association uses this opportunity to raise funds used for research and development in the hope of eradicating heart disease. All funds donated will be sent to the AHA. The brochure your child will bring home is for this part of the program. The program begins today, January 20, 2017, and concludes on the day of our event – February 24, 2017. All donations must be turned in by then. They can be turned in prior to Feb.24th, just return them to your child’s homeroom teacher. Students are NOT required to do the fundraising. ALL students will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart Event on Feb. 24th.
We have a website set up for Willowville for students to raise funds online. It is a safe and secure site. Information is not shared. To find that site, visit www.heart.org/jump. Click on ‘Register Now’. Choose our state (Ohio), city (Batavia) and school (Willowville Elementary). Click ‘Join Team’. It will prompt you to enter your own password and information then direct you to the site. Kids can set up a page of their own and send emails to family and friends asking for donations. This is not necessary to do, but I wanted to give you the information in case you choose to do so. (There are a couple of prizes related to online funds.)
