The West Clermont Board of Education at their regularly
scheduled Board meeting Monday night unanimously named Mrs. Alana Cropper as the
new school district treasurer. “Mrs. Cropper is a highly skilled school
treasurer who will continue to provide the accounting excellence and solid
fiscal management for our instructional and co-curricular programs. She will be
a real asset to our leadership team,” says Dr. Gary Brooks, superintendent of
West Clermont. Mrs. Cropper, who currently serves as treasurer for Winton Woods
City Schools, has been assisting interim treasurer Al Fleckinger following the
untimely death of former West Clermont treasurer Mr. Charles “Chuck” Gossett in
mid-September.
Mrs. Cropper holds an undergraduate degree in accounting
from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from Xavier University, and is a
licensed certified public accountant. In addition to her duties at Winton Woods,
Cropper also serves as Southwest Regional Director of the Ohio Association of
School Business Officials and acts as a liaison between the state auditor’s
committee and district treasurers. Prior to her eleven and a half years of
public service as Winton Woods’ treasurer, Cropper was employed by the state
auditor’s office, where she provided fiscal oversight to several municipalities
including the cities of Cincinnati and Springboro. She began her work in the
private sector at the accounting firm of Ernst and Young, specializing in
government consulting.
Cropper, who was
granted a four-year contract, officially begins her duties in West Clermont on
