8th Grade Chromebook, Case and Charger Turn In - May 17th!
The Technology Department has been pleased to support high quality instruction at West Clermont Middle School over the past two school years through the 1 To Wolf program. We appreciate the help of all involved as we strive to continue this work and transition equipment within the district as planned since the program's inception. To that end, and as you may already know, 8th grade students must turn in their Chromebooks, hard-shell protective cases and chargers before the end of the year. They will receive new Chromebooks at the start of the 2019-2020 school year to use during their time at West Clermont High School. The devices they have been using for the past two years will be reallocated to our elementary schools to ensure our younger learners have current technology on which they can rely. For these reasons, on May 17th, 2019, the Technology Department will be conducting the 8th Grade Chromebook Turn-In by collecting Chromebooks from8th grade student’s only, to include the hard-shell, always-on Gumdrop case and charger that were issued to the student at the start of the 1 To Wolf program or upon enrolling in the district. Staff will inspect each student's Chromebook, case, and charger to identify any damage. If repairs are needed:
1. The student will be notified before leaving the turn-in area
2. A work order will be created in our repair system
3. In the next few days, the device will be assessed, and an invoice will be mailed to the student's home address when repairs are complete.
NOTE: If Chromebook insurance was purchased during the 2018-2019 school year, and has not been consumed, damages will be covered by the insurance.
Repair costs are included below.
NOTE: Repair costs for a single incident involving a single Chromebook will not exceed the "Total Replacement Cost of the Chromebook Including case", if the case is also damaged or missing, or "Total Replacement Cost of Chromebook Only", if the case is turned in intact. Repair costs are included below.
Total Replacement Cost of Chromebook including case - $255.00
